Solefrutta was the creation of owner Massimo Pizzini, in February of 2000. His aim was to utilise one of the most important resources that the Plains of Sybari has: citrus fruits.
This area of Calabria, located between the crystalline Ionian sea and the Pollino National Park, is particularly suited for the cultivation of citrus because of its climate and soil properties. Within 48 hours of collection, the fruits are transformed using techniques derived from ancient Calabrian tradition.
There are no thickeners, concentrates or preservatives added. All jams and marmalades have a very high proportion of fruit.
